DFCU Bank is hiring a Systems Analyst to serve as a critical liaison between Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Technical Teams, translating business requirements into functional specifications, performing detailed requirements analysis, documenting processes and designing system workflows.
The analyst will ensure that developed systems align with enterprise architecture, financial regulations, and software development standards through thorough system reviews and documentation.
Reporting to: the Senior Manager – Systems Architecture
Duty station: Head Office
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Translate business requirements into functional/technical specifications, data mappings, and integration designs that guide development and testing.
- Participate in system design reviews, providing technical context to support solution alignment with functional and regulatory needs.
- Support the testing team with creating and reviewing system integration test scenarios to ensure completeness and alignment with business and technical expectations.
- Participate in the software development process by prototyping application requirements / features and workflows or process designs to support iterative design and stakeholder validation.
- Identify opportunities for system and process optimization, consolidation, and automation.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including but not limited to software solution designs (SDD), user manuals, configuration guides, and operating procedures.
- Collaborate with internal IT and third-party vendors to ensure effective implementation, deployment, and support of solutions.
- Analyze impact of proposed solution across the business, develop use cases, functional specification and source to target mappings to explain/demonstrate business requirements/specifications to IT team, and contribute a business or process perspective during system design reviews.
- Participate in technical improvements of existing business applications and processes by identifying consolidation opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other mathematically inclined Degree.
- Strong documentation skills and experience creating technical manuals and functional specifications is a must
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in software/system analysis or product development, ideally in banking or fintech environments.
- Strong knowledge of core banking systems, digital banking platforms, and financial services processes.
- Experience with SharePoint, SQL databases, and BPM tools.
- Knowledge and experience of at least two programming/prototyping languages (e.g., Java, Python, dotNet).
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as React/JavaScript, UI/UX skills is an added advantage.
- Experience with both Windows and Linux/Unix server environments is required.
- Solid understanding of database design and implementation (MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL or Oracle).
- Demonstrated ability in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and technical troubleshooting.
- Project management skills are an added advantage.
